Ramstein meeting to approve aid plan for Kyiv through 2027 – Pentagon

During the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (the "Ramstein" format) in Germany, a plan for Ukraine's defense capabilities will be drawn up to support the creation of a reliable deterrent force by 2027.

The U.S. Department of Defense has reported this.

"The leaders of these coalitions will need to endorse roadmaps that articulate Ukraine's air force, armor, artillery, de-mining, drone, integrated air and missile defense, information technology and maritime security needs and objectives through 2027. These roadmaps are intended to enable donors to plan for and support Ukraine sustainably into the future," explained a U.S. Defense Department official.

The Contact Group includes a group of coalition leaders representing eight key areas of Ukraine's military capabilities. Each coalition is led by at least two NATO member states.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the U.S. Department of Defense said that it will not be able to deliver all the promised aid to Ukraine by January 20, the day of the inauguration of the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. However, the aid will continue to arrive after that.

Biden called on the Pentagon to increase military aid to Kyiv after the massive shelling on Christmas.
