Kremlin decides not to inform russians about renewed AFU offensive in Kursk Oblast
The authorities of the aggressor country of russia decided to hide from the russians the details of the first major offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in almost six months in the territory of the Kursk Oblast. Only Z-channels and military bloggers took the actions of the Ukrainian army seriously.
The russian Telegram channel Mozhem Obyasnit drew attention to this.
According to the channel, russian state media at the federal level limited themselves to using quotes from the summary of the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation in their reports. It says that the russian army allegedly "stopped" the actions of the Ukrainian army and allegedly "destroyed" the enemy.
The authorities of the Kursk Oblast also did not pay attention to the new offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Instead, the residents of the oblast were told about preparations for the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Kursk.
And the governor of the region, Alexander Khinshtein, declared at all that he would not make any comments on the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, only the military, that is, the russian Defense Ministry, should assess the situation at the front.
The channel drew attention to the fact that some Z-channels and military bloggers took the offensive seriously.
They complain that the Armed Forces of Ukraine chose an extremely inappropriate time for the offensive, since the russian military is supposedly on New Year's holidays.
"The Ukrainians chose the same time for the counteroffensive - during all holidays. What kind of war is this, we are on holidays until 10," wrote propagandist Anastasia Kashevarova.
And the Telegram channel Rybar associated with the russian Defense Ministry claims that the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are allegedly just a distraction maneuver. It wrote that in the Sumy Region, the Ukrainian military allegedly gathered a large strike group, and the main place of the offensive may be in a completely different place.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 5, it became known that units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive at once in several sections of the front in the Kursk Oblast. This information was confirmed by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Andrii Kovalenko and the head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak.
On the evening of January 5, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 42 combat clashes had occurred in the Kursk Oblast. At the same time, the command did not confirm or deny information about a new offensive in the region.
