Ukraine loses most in war – Serbian President Vučić
Ukraine lost most from russia's full-scale invasion, while China and the United States won.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated this, according to Handelsblatt.
Vučić noted that there was an idea of a ceasefire from December 23 to January 8, 2025, that is, on the days of Christian and Orthodox Christmas. According to him, after fifteen days of peace, it would be very difficult to resume hostilities, but he is not sure that either side is ready for this.
"The Ukrainians, of course, lost the most in this war. But both the Russians and we, the Europeans, lose. The U.S. and China win. One is strengthening their positions in the energy market, and China now has a clear idea of how each Western country reacts to aggression," Vučić said.
The President of Serbia believes that peace will prevail only when negotiations begin between key global players: "This bloodshed must end as soon as possible," Vučić stressed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 18, the future U.S. special envoy for Ukraine and the aggressor country russia, Keith Kellogg, stated that the Ukrainian and russian sides are ready for negotiations.
On December 19, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a telephone conversation with the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, in particular regarding russian aggression against Ukraine.
On December 25, Pope Francis called for peace talks between Ukraine and russia.
