At the same time, Ukraine, as before, receives from USD 0.8 to USD 1 billion in profit for the transit of russian gas.

Russia has stated that it is ready to extend the agreement on gas transit through the territory of Ukraine, but Kyiv has repeatedly said that it will not do so.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the day before, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that at 07:00 on January 1, 2025, the country would stop the transit of russian gas to Europe.

As we will recall, in early September this year it became known that Azerbaijan is negotiating with Ukraine and russia to maintain the transit of russian gas through Ukrainian territory.
