Demobilization practically impossible – Deputy Defense Minister
Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryluk has reported that the draft law on demobilization has already been developed, but it is currently impossible to carry out demobilization.
He said this during the Hour of Questions to the Government.
The Hour of Questions was hosted by Oleksii Honcharenko, an MP from the European Solidarity faction, on his YouTube channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The draft law is practically developed and ready for publication and submission to the Verkhovna Rada through the Cabinet of Ministers," he said regarding the draft law on demobilization.
According to him, demobilization is currently impossible due to a lack of reserves.
"But until we prepare reserves of military personnel to replace those who are currently fighting on the front line, it is practically impossible to do this, because it will lead to the loss of the state," explained Havryluk.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk expects the Cabinet of Ministers to implement the parliament's decision to introduce the draft law on demobilization.
