Russians seek to "trade" threat of offensive in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions, as well as Oreshnik in their strategy of raising rates - CCD head Kovalenko

Russians seek to "trade" the threat of an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions, as well as Oreshnik missile in their strategy of raising rates.

This was announced by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Andrii Kovalenko, on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Putinists are trying to inflate and set up as a condition the threat to Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions so that the US will believe in the seriousness of their intentions. Lavrov voices this nonsense in an interview with Tucker Carlson, and the russian army is demonstratively training to cross the Dnieper at training grounds and is preparing for active actions in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions. The russians are trying to "trade" this threat, just like by Oreshnik in their strategy of raising the stakes," he wrote.

Kovalenko noted that Ukraine understands the threats and has its own countermeasures.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier the RBC-Ukraine agency, citing its own sources, reported that the russian occupation army had not abandoned plans to attack Zaporizhzhia, which is located approximately 30 kilometers from the front line, and the occupiers are also considering the possibility of crossing the Dnieper to attack Kherson. The agency's unnamed sources said that russian troops could launch an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia Region as early as December 5.

The Economist also reported that, according to the publication, Ukrainian intelligence believes that the russian army is preparing to attack Zaporizhzhia.
