Defense Ministry plans to complete registration of conscripts aged 16 to 25 by 2025
As of October, 163,000 conscripts aged 16 to 25 have been registered for military registration, and the Ministry of Defense plans to complete their registration by the end of 2024.
This is stated in a report by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Youth Affairs, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that the committee considered the issue of the status of implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 932 of August 16, 2024 regarding the registration of young citizens of Ukraine aged 16 to 25, including those who are outside Ukraine.
Deputy Minister of Defense for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Kateryna Chernohorenko informed the committee members that as of September 30, 2024, the digital team of the Ministry of Defense had uploaded 89% of conscript records, a total of 163,000 conscripts aged 16 to 25 years were registered by mid-October 2024.
She also reported that according to the State Migration Service, 79,000 Ukrainians are tied to the need to register and are waiting for passports in foreign countries, 5,000 people were registered, this service was unlocked for them.
Chernohorenko also reported that the Ministry of Defense is waiting for an algorithm of actions from the General Staff for Ukrainians who have gone abroad and who have violations of the registration rules.
She noted that the Ministry of Defense will complete the registration of conscripts by the end of the year and report on the results in figures.
The Deputy Minister asked the MPs to accelerate the adoption of the bill No. 12093 on the possibility of citizens paying a fine for violating the legislation on registration in the Reserve+ application, while providing that if a person does this "on an initiative and voluntary basis", then he pays only 50% of the fine, as for violating traffic rules.
The Committee recommended that the Cabinet of Ministers develop an effective and understandable algorithm for registering male persons aged 17 to 25 who are outside Ukraine for military registration, and publish it in the media and social networks.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 16, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced an experiment on automatic verification and checking of information about conscripts, those liable for military service, and reservists. In particular, it is stipulated that boys aged 17 to 25 should be registered for military registration without passing a military medical commission. This applies to both those who live in Ukraine and those who are abroad.
