Defense Ministry allows Oncilla-Shturm armored personnel carrier for operation

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially codified and allows the Oncilla-Shturm armored personnel carrier to operation, a domestic combat vehicle designed to perform a wide range of tasks on the battlefield.

This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

It is noted that the new armored personnel carrier is designed for three crew members and six gunners. The vehicle is equipped with a powerful turbodiesel engine and an automatic transmission, which provides high speed characteristics and a range of over 700 km.

The Oncilla-Shturm armor provides reliable protection for the crew from small arms fire, fragments and explosions on explosive devices.

"The domestic armored vehicle Oncilla-Shturm demonstrates Ukraine's progress in creating equipment that meets modern battlefield needs. Its reliability and functionality allow our military to perform combat missions even in difficult conditions, ensuring the protection of personnel and the effectiveness of operations," said Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.

The standard equipment of the armored personnel carrier includes an automatic tire inflation system, an air conditioning system with heating function, power steering, an automatic fire extinguishing system, a filter ventilation system, a winch and a remotely controlled combat module with a large-caliber machine gun.

The armored personnel carrier can be manufactured in several modifications depending on the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a reminder, in early November, Ukrainian military personnel began to complain about defective 120-mm mines produced by Ukroboronprom that were delivered to the front. Currently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced that it is investigating the causes of their abnormal operation.
