North Korea expanding factory for production of ballistic missiles that russia is using to fire on Ukraine

North Korea is expanding a factory for the production of Hwasong-11 (KN-23) ballistic missiles that Pyongyang handed over to the aggressor country, russia, for use in the war against Ukraine.

According to Reuters, this is evidenced by satellite images studied by experts from the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS).

This is a factory located on the territory of the Ryonsong Machine-Building Complex in the city of Hamhung in the east of the country.

According to CNS researcher Sam Leir, this factory is the only one that produces solid-fuel ballistic missiles KN-23.

Satellite images taken in early October show that, apparently, another assembly building is being built, as well as a new residential complex, presumably intended for workers.

CNS added that the images also show that North Korea is improving the entrances to some of the complex's underground facilities.

The new assembly building is about 60-70 percent larger than the previous building where missiles were assembled.

"We see this as a suggestion that they're massively increasing, or they're trying to significantly increase, the throughput of this factory," Leir said.

As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier in November, the British newspaper Financial Times wrote, citing Ukrainian intelligence, that North Korea had provided russia with 50 self-propelled howitzers and 20 multiple launch rocket systems.
