Zelenskyy denies rumors about elections in Ukraine during war

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rejected rumors about elections in Ukraine during the war.

This was reported on his Telegram channel by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, MP from the Holos faction.

"The Constitution and laws do not allow holding elections during wartime. No one in the world demands this. Ukraine first needs a just peace, and then Ukrainians will hold fair elections!" the MP quoted Zelenskyy.

Holding elections after the war is part of the first point of the Resilience Plan presented by Zelenskyy in the Verkhovna Rada.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy denied the possibility of reducing the mobilization age. According to the President, the Ministry of Defense and the military command should introduce a new system of contracts for citizens who have not reached the mobilization age.

It was previously reported that The Economist named the dates of a possible ceasefire and elections in Ukraine - January 20 and May 25, 2025.
