German Chancellor's conversation with putin criticized in Ukraine

The phone calls and long talks give russian dictator vladimir putin hope of easing international isolation and do not add "any added value" to achieving peace in Ukraine.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Heorhii Tykhyi made the corresponding comment on the telephone conversation between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and putin on Friday, November 15.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the German side had warned in advance about negotiations with putin. Such conversations with the russian dictator "do not bring any added value" for a just peace in Ukraine, even if the Chancellor of Germany did not express himself contrary to Ukraine's position, Tykhyi stressed.

"Long talks are a resource that putin has been using for more than 20 years to achieve his interests. Talks now only give putin hope of easing his international isolation. What is needed is concrete, strong actions that will force him to peace, not persuasion and attempts at appeasement, which he regards it as a sign of weakness and uses it for his own purposes," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Tykhyi called the withdrawal of the troops of the aggressor country from the territory of Ukraine as concrete actions.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 15, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had a telephone conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin.

On November 15, the Reuters agency reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Scholz against calling putin.

It will be recalled that on November 10, the American publication The Washington Post wrote that on November 7, President-elect Trump allegedly had a telephone conversation with the russian dictator.
