Paris preparing for "great war". Pensioners will work at defense plants in France

France is introducing a "labor reserve" system to strengthen the defense-industrial complex in case of a large-scale war. Retirees, who worked in the defense industry will undergo an annual 10-day training to maintain their qualifications. If necessary, they will be able to return to work, receiving the status of non-commissioned officers or officers, DEFENSE EXPRESS writes.

"We are not at war, but on the other hand, we should not be naive. We are preparing to increase our strength, if only for the sake of reputation and therefore we are looking for additional skills where we can find them," Denfese News quoted DGA head Emmanuel Chiva.

The system covers key manufacturers, including Nexter, Naval Group, Verney-Carron. They plan to create a reserve of 3,000 specialists by 2030. The main goal is to double the army reserve and ensure the defense capability of the country.

"It is quite possible that this "reserve" will start working immediately. Because, according to the head of the DGA, there are currently 4,500 small and medium-sized companies in France that work in the field of defense industry, of which 1,200 are critical and it is they who may need additional workers who will be involved in training, design or production," the publication notes.

Meanwhile, among Ukraine's European partners, there are increasingly rumors that the russian-Ukrainian war will end with territorial concessions on the part of Kyiv. At the same time, Europeans believe that Moscow will also have to make certain concessions.
