AFU in Kursk Oblast holding back enemy group of almost 50,000 - Zelenskyy
In the Kursk Oblast (russia), the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back an enemy group numbering almost 50,000.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In particular, he said that he listened to a detailed report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
"There is a decision of the Commander-in-Chief to significantly strengthen the most difficult directions - Kurakhove and Pokrovsk. In the Kursk Oblast, our guys continue to hold back the almost 50,000-strong enemy group outside the borders of Ukraine," the President said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 6, Syrskyi reported that during the three-month operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, the russians lost almost 21,000 soldiers. At that time, he noted that the russians have concentrated about 45,000 troops in the Kursk Oblast and are trying to increase their number, russia's own troops are not enough for this direction, so they are trying to attract troops from North Korea there.
On November 4, Zelenskyy reported that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, there are already 11,000 North Korean soldiers on the territory of the Kursk Oblast.
On August 6, the Defense Forces of Ukraine began an offensive operation in the Kursk Axis.
