Rada receives draft state budget 2025 for second reading

The Verkhovna Rada received the draft budget law for 2025 before the second reading.

This was announced in his Telegram channel by Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Verkhovna Rada received the draft budget law for the second reading," he wrote.

According to Hetmantsev, the draft state budget for the second reading includes his proposals regarding additional revenues from the tax on excess profits of banks, as well as the reduction of the Road Fund, the cancellation of salary increases for officials, in particular prosecutors, and the redistribution of relevant funds for the demining program, education, medicine, and defense industry.

"I understand that the budget is not perfect, but I have no illusions that in the conditions of an ongoing full-scale war, we have a lot of room to maneuver or propose the kind of spending that we could afford in peacetime. We must remember that priority No. 1 remains expenses of the security and defense sector, on which we will direct everything we can earn on our own," added the head of the finance committee.

Hetmantsev believes that the 2025 state budget is worth supporting in the second reading.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 8, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft state budget for 2025 for the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada.
