Pashynskyi tries to cancel multimillion bail, but court refuses

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court refused to change the preventive measure to ex-MP Serhii Pashynskyi.

This was announced by the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On November 4, 2024, the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court considered the prosecution's appeal against the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court investigating judge dated October 1, 2024 to change the preventive measure against the former MP.

Based on the results of the review, the panel of judges satisfied the prosecution's appeal, annulled the decision of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court and issued a new decision, which denied the defense a request to change the suspect's preventive measure.

Thus, the suspect continues to be subject to a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 272,520,000.

The decision entered into legal force from the moment of its announcement and is not subject to appeal in the cassation procedure.

According to the investigation, Pashynskyi is suspected of participating in a criminal organization and taking possession of seized oil products worth approximately UAH 967 million under Part 1 of Article 255, Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court kept him in custody, but reduced the bail from UAH 333 to 181 million for businessman Serhii Tyshchenko, who is involved in the case of ex-MP Serhii Pashynskyi. NABU, SACPO and SSU suspect the former member of the Verkhovna Rada, Serhii Pashynskyi, of misappropriating and selling almost 100,000 tons of state-confiscated oil products of businessman Serhii Kurchenko, which were supposed to be used for the needs of the army.
