Sweden transferring Ukraine new EUR 9 million aid package
Sweden announced a new aid package to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 9 million. The aid includes, in particular, two ships with equipment to strengthen maritime security.
This was stated by the Minister of Civil Defense of Sweden Karl Oscar Bolin during a joint briefing with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
According to Bolin, the aid package included two vessels with equipment to strengthen maritime security. The ships will be handed over to units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
In addition, the package includes 40,000 protective masks and respirators, which will be used by representatives of the State Emergency Service.
"We are observing the situation and recognize that Ukraine is fighting for the entire civilized world. And we will continue to fully support you, because the security of the whole of Europe depends on you," the Swedish minister said.
Bolin added that Sweden intends to expand cooperation between the Ukrainian and Swedish ministries.
It will be recalled that the USA announced a new USD 425 million aid to Ukraine.
