Trading volume on PFTS up 12.0% to UAH 57.2 billion in October
In October 2024, the total volume of trading on the PFTS stock exchange amounted to UAH 57.2 billion (112% of the level of the previous month) or 83% of the total volume of trades of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.
This follows from a statement by the exchange, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In the first ten months of 2024, the total volume of trading on the PFTS amounted to UAH 405.7 billion (226% of the level of the same period in 2023), or 70% of the total volume of trading by securities trading organizers in Ukraine.
In the structure of trades for October, the share of government bonds of Ukraine was 87% (UAH 49.7 billion or 164% of the previous month's level), bonds of foreign countries - 4.9% (UAH 2.8 billion or 16.4% of the previous month's level), currency swaps - 7.7% (UAH 4.4 billion or 150% of the previous month's level), securities of collective investment institutions - 0.4% (UAH 0.2 billion or 68% of the level of the previous month), corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 0.1% (UAH 0.06 billion or 35% of the level of the previous month), bonds of foreign issuers - 0.01% (UAH 6.1 million or 3348% of the previous month), and shares of Ukrainian issuers - 0.001% (UAH 0.6 million or 505% of the previous month's level).
7.1% of deals were concluded on the "application market" in October; on the "quotation market" (including address agreements) - 87.3% of transactions; in REPO and REPO "with risk control" modes - 4.2% of transactions; in the mode of SWAP with risk control - 1.4% of transactions.
In October 2024, a total of 41 bidders entered into agreements with 103 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 50, government foreign loan bonds - 8, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 6, bonds of foreign states - 15, securities of collective investment institutions - 5, shares of foreign issuers - 18, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 1).
In the first ten months of 2024, a total of 50 bidders entered into agreements with 190 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 70, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 16, municipal bonds – 1, bonds of foreign states - 46, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 8, securities of collective investment institutions – 6, bonds of foreign issuers – 2, shares of foreign issuers – 22).
From June 17, 2024, trading in currency swaps began in the PFTS trading system.
In October, agreements were concluded with currency swaps "US dollar - Ukrainian hryvnia" (ticker: USDUAH).
The total volume of trades in the specified swaps amounted to UAH 4.4 billion (7.7% of the total volume of trades or 150% of the previous month's level).
Among the 50 issues of government domestic loan bonds with which agreements were concluded in October, 5 issues - with maturity dates in 2024 (UAH 4.3 billion), 24 issues - with maturity dates in 2025 (UAH 33.1 billion), 11 issues - with maturity dates in 2026 (UAH 2.6 billion), 9 issues with maturity dates in 2027 (UAH 8.9 billion) and 1 issue with a maturity date in 2028 (UAH 0.8 billion).
From July 26, 2022, trading of government domestic loan bonds denominated in a foreign currency in the nominal currency began on the PFTS.
In October 2024, the volume of exchange contracts with domestic government loan bonds executed in the nominal currency amounted to USD 235.9 million and EUR 10.5 million (17.9% of the total trading volume).
As of November 1, 2024, the number of members of PFTS Stock Exchange JSC admitted to trading was 52: 30 banks and 22 financial companies.
A total of 412 issues of securities were admitted to trading on PFTS Stock Exchange JSC, of which 112 issues of securities were in the Exchange Register.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in September 2024, the total volume of trading on the PFTS stock exchange amounted to UAH 51 billion (126% of the level of the previous month) or 80% of the total volume of trades of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.
The PFTS index has been the official index of Ukraine in S&P Emerging Markets since 1997.
