US asks Iran not to try to attack Israel again, fears it won't hold Jerusalem after - Axios
The U.S. leadership appealed to the leadership of Iran with a warning not to carry out a new attack against Israel, which should be the response of the Islamic republic to the strike of the Israeli army at the end of October.
It was reported by the Axios portal with reference to an American and a former Israeli official.
Last time, Israel launched a massive attack on the military facilities of the Iranian army. At the same time, oil production enterprises and facilities of the country's nuclear program were not affected.
"We told the Iranians: We won't be able to hold Israel back, and we won't be able to make sure that the next attack will be calibrated and targeted as the previous one," a U.S. official said.
The message was sent directly from Washington to Tehran through intermediaries in Switzerland.
Recall that on October 25, the Israel Defense Forces launched an unprecedented attack on Iran. It was a response to the Iranian missile attack on Israel on October 1.
A few days after the attack, Israel said that Iran had lost its strategic capabilities for several years ahead.
Iran has vowed to strike back. Last Saturday, November 2, the supreme leader of the country, Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei, said during an event with students that Israel and the United States will allegedly receive a devastating response.
