Ukraine will have enough gas to get through heating season - Halushchenko
Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko assures that Ukraine will have enough gas for the heating season.
He said this during an hour of questions to the government, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We will have enough gas to get through the heating season. Moreover, we will have enough gas, taking into account the calculated increase in gas consumption at generation facilities," Halushchenko said.
The Minister of Energy noted that Ukraine has agreements on the possibility of importing gas in the amount that will be necessary, if the system needs it during this heating season.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that gas reserves in underground storage facilities as of October 15 amount to 12.3 billion cubic meters, with 3.1 million tons of coal accumulated in warehouses.
The growth of gas production this year compared to 2023 and its accumulated reserves in storages give grounds to assert that Ukraine is ready for the heating season, according to Mykhailo Svyshcho, editor of the analytical publication ExPro Gas&Oil.
