Participation of North Korean soldiers in war will not change situation at front - Estonian intelligence

The head of the intelligence center of the Estonian Defense Forces, Ants Kiviselg, believes that the participation of North Korean soldiers in the russian federation's war against Ukraine will not change the situation at the front.

ERR writes about it.

In his opinion, the sending of North Korean soldiers indicates russia's problems with maintaining the intensity of military activity.

"Public reports state that the number of North Korean units may reach 10,000 soldiers and they are currently in the Eastern Military District of the russian federation. There are also reports of the creation of a unit numbering about 3,000 people on the basis of an amphibious assault brigade staffed by North Koreans, which will probably operate in the Kursk or Bryansk Oblasts in the future," Kiviselg said.

"At the same time, the possible sending of such forces by North Korea to the Ukrainian front - 3,000 people or 10,000 people - will not bring any significant changes on the battlefield. However, if this continues for a longer period of time, it may play a significant role in future battles," said the colonel.

The provision of military aid to russia gives the leadership of North Korea and Iran the opportunity to use it in their interests, Kiviselg explained.

"This gives Iran and North Korea the opportunity to demand from the russian federation exclusive security guarantees or technological information that remained unavailable until now and that these countries will be able to use in the future. Also, servicemen participating in battles on the territory of Ukraine or the russian federation will receive military experience, which they will be able to use against their neighbors in their region," he added.

We will remind, according to Budanov, 11,000 North Korean troops will be ready to fight in Ukraine as early as November 1.
