Israeli policemen come to Uman for Rosh Hashanah celebration
Israeli police arrived in Uman to help Ukrainian law enforcement officers ensure the safety of residents during Rosh Hashanah.
Israeli ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky announced this.
According to him, more than 30,000 pilgrims from Israel are expected to arrive in Uman this year.
At the same time, the ambassador reminded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel recommended refraining from trips to Ukraine during the war.
Despite the war in Ukraine, more than 35,000 pilgrims came to Uman last year.
In 2024, Rosh Hashanah will be celebrated on October 2-4.
We will remind, earlier in Ukraine, up to 50,000 pilgrims were expected, but the plans of pilgrims were influenced, in particular, by the escalation in the north of Israel. A number of airlines have canceled flights that the Hasidic pilgrims were supposed to use to reach European countries in order to get to Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also urged Hasidim to refrain from the pilgrimage to Uman due to the aggression of the russian federation.
In addition, the Migration Service and law enforcement officers are moving to an increased mode of operation due to the arrival of Hasidim in Uman.
Meanwhile, a special entry regime was introduced in Uman due to the arrival of Hasidic pilgrims.
