Sugar factories produce 47,000 tons of sugar

As of September 12, sugar factories produced 46,700 tons of sugar.

This is stated in the message of the Ukrsugar association, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"As of September 12, sweet roots have been collected from an area of ​​16,200 hectares. Currently, the yield on the collected areas is 46 tons per hectare. 14 factories in 8 regions have already started processing sugar beets. Sugar production for the first decade of September 2024 amounted to 46,700 tons; export - 5,000 tons," the report said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the 2024/2025 marketing year sugar production season (September 2024 - August 2025) has started in Ukraine.

In the 2023/24 marketing year, Ukraine produced about 1.8 million tons of sugar.

On July 2, due to exceeding quotas, the European Union returned customs duties on Ukrainian eggs and sugar.
