Iran confirms transfer of ballistic missiles to russia. They were exchanged for wheat and beans
Member of the Islamic Consultative Council (Parliament of Iran) Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani confirmed the fact of the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to russia.
Ardestani made the corresponding statement in an interview with the Iranian publication Didban Iran on Saturday, September 7.
Ardestani said that deliveries of ballistic missiles are carried out as part of an exchange program under which Iran imports food: wheat and soybeans.
Also, the transfer of missiles enables Tehran to receive dollars for its budget, which is much more difficult in the conditions of difficult relations with the West.
Ardestani was asked whether the leadership of Iran is afraid of introducing new sanctions in response to the transfer of ballistic missiles to russia.
"It can't be worse than it already is <...> We give missiles to Hezbollah, Hamas and Hashd al-Shaabi, so why not give them to russia," Ardestani added.
He noted that since Europe sells weapons to Ukraine, why should Iran not support its ally by providing it with drones and missiles.
It will be recalled that on September 6, the American publication The Wall Street Journal reported with reference to its own sources that the United States had warned its allies that Iran had supplied russia with ballistic missiles.
In addition, at the beginning of August, the Reuters agency reported that Iran is training several dozen russian soldiers in the use of Iranian ballistic missiles.
Earlier we wrote that russia supplies Iran with grain that was transferred from the occupied territories of Ukraine.
