Zelenskyy denies connection between AFU operation in Kursk Oblast and recent russian missile strikes on Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denies the connection between the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast of russia and the recent russian missile strikes on Ukraine.

He said this at a press conference, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The Kursk operation is not related to any of the points of the peace formula. The Kursk operation had and has completely different goals than the energy meetings," Zelenskyy said.

He added that the Kursk operation is one of the stages for the end of the war.

The president also emphasized that the meeting with the representatives of the russian federation through the mediation of Qatar on energy took place and agreements were reached.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the russian attack on Ukraine on August 26 a combined attack and one of the largest, aimed at critical civilian infrastructure.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that 15 regions were affected on August 26 by a massive russian attack, and the energy infrastructure was once again the target of russian terrorists.

Ukraine continues to restore the power system after the russian strikes, while additional generation is being erected.
