Harris promises to support Ukraine if elected president

U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris has promised to support Ukraine if elected. She said this during a speech at the national convention of the Democratic Party in Chicago, the Voice of America reports.

In her speech, Harris said that five days before the full-scale russian invasion, she met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to warn him of russia's plans.

"I helped mobilize a global response - more than 50 countries - to defend against Putin's aggression. And as president, I will stand firmly in support of Ukraine and our NATO allies," Harris said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Harris is narrowly ahead of Trump in five out of seven key states.

Meanwhile, former U.S. president Donald Trump has agreed to a debate with Kamala Harris on ABC on September 10.
