The newest Su-57s base at air base in russian Lipetsk - Defense Express

Today, August 9, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the Lipetsk military airfield (Lipetsk Oblast, russia). It was at the airfield of the Lipetsk Training Center where the newest russian Su-57s were based and performed combat missions.

This was reported by the Defense Express military portal.

So, according to the portal, the air base in Lipetsk is not a standard military airfield. This is one of the largest training centers in the aggressor country of the russian federation (The 4th Center for combat use and retraining of flight personnel). It is basically operated by the 968th research and training mixed aviation regiment. But since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, it has been used by other tactical aviation units of the russian Air Force to perform direct combat tasks.

At the same time, it was on the basis of this center that russian pilots were trained on the new russian fighter Su-57, which in the russian federation is called a representative of the "fifth generation". As of April 2023, these planes were captured by the satellite image of the Google Earth service.

In addition, the russian federation claims that it uses the Su-57 in the war against Ukraine.

At the same time, whether the Su-57s were at the airbase near Lipetsk at the time of the attack, whether these or other russian planes were damaged, remains unknown.

The portal adds that Su-30, Su-34, Su-35, MiG-31 are also based at the airfield, some as combat vehicles, some as training vehicles.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June, the russian aggressors suffered another painful blow - two Su-57 multi-purpose aircraft were hit at the airfield in Akhtubinsk.

Earlier, the Air Force explained why the russian federation hides the Su-57 fighter from the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces.
