Defense forces destroy 9 tanks and 40 artillery systems of russians – AFU General Staff operational update
Over the past day, July 20, the russian army lost 44 artillery systems, 9 tanks and 1,100 people killed and wounded. Thus, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the aggressor country of the russian federation has lost about 566,710 people.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated this in its operational update on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The total losses of russians per day look like this:
- personnel - about 566,710 (+1,100) people were eliminated;
- tanks – 8,266 (+9) units;
- armored combat vehicles - 15,963 (+46) units;
- artillery systems - 15,586 (+44) units;
- MLRS – 1,121 units;
- air defense equipment - 896 (+1) units;
- aircraft - 362 units;
- helicopters - 326 units;
- UAVs of operational-tactical level - 12,402 (+52) units;
- cruise missiles – 2,401 units;
- ships/boats - 28 units;
- submarines - 1 unit;
- motor vehicles and fuel tanks - 21,036 (+68) units;
- special equipment – 2,616 (+9) units.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of July 21, 2024, the aggressor country russia attacked the territory of Ukraine with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, two Kh-59 guided air missiles and 39 Shahed-type strike UAVs - 35 of them were knocked down.
At night, the aggressor country russia attacked the Kyiv Region with drones, but all of them were shot down. No significant destruction was recorded, but there was damage to private houses.
