Ukraine and Slovenia conclude security agreement
On Thursday, July 18, Ukraine and Slovenia signed a ten-year bilateral agreement on security guarantees.
This is stated in a message on the website of the Office of the President.
As reported, the agreement was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob in Woodstock (the United Kingdom).
The President's Office noted that Slovenia has already provided Ukraine with 13 packages of military aid (taking into account 2024) and intends to maintain this level of support throughout the ten-year term of the Agreement. The Republic of Slovenia also undertakes to meet the urgent needs of Ukraine to strengthen its security capabilities.
In addition, Slovenia will assist Ukraine in training within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM). The countries will cooperate in finding sources of financing to help implement projects of the Ukrainian defense industry.
Separate blocks of the document refer to non-military support. In particular, Slovenia will additionally allocate EUR 5 million for humanitarian aid, economic recovery and the "Grain from Ukraine" humanitarian program.
The agreement also talks about deepening cooperation in the fields of information and cyber security, fight against organized crime, intelligence and counterintelligence, as well as humanitarian demining.
It is emphasized that the document clearly enshrines Slovenia's comprehensive support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO.
