Sale of pre-owned imported passenger cars up 26% to 19,300 units in May

In May 2024, pre-owned imported passenger cars' sales increased by 26% year over year to 19,300 units.

This follows from a statement by the Ukravtoprom association, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Compared to April, the sale of pre-owned imported passenger cars decreased by 2%.

Gasoline cars took the largest share in this segment of the car market - 49%.

Diesel cars occupy 23% of this segment of the car market, electric cars - 17%.

Volkswagen Golf was the most popular pre-owned passenger car in May - 1,049 registrations.

Renault Megane was in the second place (806 units), Skoda Octavia - in the third place (640 units), Volkswagen Passat - in the fourth place (569 units), and Volkswagen Tiguan closed the top five (552 units).

It is noted that the average age of pre-owned cars that were transferred to Ukrainian license plates in May is 9 years.

Since the beginning of the year, almost 95,000 used passenger cars have switched to Ukrainian registration, which is by 36% more than in the same period last year.

As the Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, pre-owned imported passenger cars' sales decreased by 45% year over year to 214,400 units.
