State budget fulfilled with a deficit of UAH 14.9 billion in January
In January 2024, the state budget was fulfilled with a deficit of UAH 14.9 billion, including the general fund, which amounted to UAH 33.3 billion.
This information is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
According to operational data from the State Treasury Service, the general fund of the state budget received UAH 116 billion in January 2024. Among the payments, the execution of which is controlled by tax and customs authorities, the main revenues were as follows:
- Value added tax on goods imported into the customs territory of Ukraine made UAH 37.0 billion
- Value added tax on goods produced in Ukraine (collected: UAH 44.9 billion, reimbursed: UAH 9.8 billion) made UAH 35.1 billion
- Personal income tax and military duty made UAH 13.0 billion
- Excise tax made UAH 12.2 billion
- Import and export duties made UAH 4.6 billion
- Rent payment for subsoil use made UAH 3.5 billion
- Corporate income tax made UAH 2.0 billion
Additionally, the implementation of the monthly list of incomes by the State Tax Service amounted to 113.8% (+ UAH 7.3 billion), and by the State Customs Service - 130.3% (+ UAH 11.0 billion).
In January 2024, the general fund of the state budget also received UAH 3.4 billion in the form of international aid (grants) from Japan as part of World Bank projects. The receipts of the Single Social Fee to the Pension Fund and social insurance funds amounted to UAH 34.2 billion.
Overall, the general and special funds of the state budget received UAH 154.2 billion in taxes, fees, and other payments in January 2024.
According to operational data, cash expenditures of the state budget for January 2024 amounted to more than UAH 169.3 billion, including UAH 149.5 billion for the general fund.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the state budget for 2023 was fulfilled with a deficit of UAH 1.33 trillion, including the general fund, which amounted to UAH 1.36 trillion, against the planned deficit of the general fund for 2023 in the amount of UAH 1.83 trillion.
