RF takes Kalibr carriers into the Black Sea – Ukraine's Navy
The aggressor state of the russian federation has taken five warships into the Black Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles.
This follows from a statement by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
"As of 8 a.m., there were five enemy ships in the Black Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, a total salvo of up to 24 missiles; in the Sea of Azov, one enemy ship; in the Mediterranean Sea, three enemy ships, including two carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, a total volley of up to 16 missiles," the message says.
During the day, in the interests of russia, passage through the Kerch Strait was carried out: in the Sea of Azov - 13 ships, of which three were moving from the Bosphorus Strait; in the Black Sea - 12 ships, three of them continued their movement in the direction of the Bosphorus Strait.
"The russian federation continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by turning off automatic identification systems (AIS)," the Navy added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, overnight into January 1, 2024, the russian army launched 90 Shahed-136/131 drones over Ukraine. This is a record number of UAVs launched simultaneously.
