Invaders reduce frequency of assaults on Avdiivka axis almost by half due to heavy losses - Defense Forces

The invaders almost halved the intensity of the assaults on the Avdiivka axis, but the increased aerial bombardment of the area continues.

The Speaker of the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces Oleksandr Shtupun announced this on the air of the telethon.

"In just two nights, the enemy dropped 40 guided aerial bombs on the Avdiivka axis. But the number of assaults at this point has become somewhat smaller. We can even say twice: if the day before yesterday there were 57 combat clashes, yesterday there were almost twice less - 28. And 80% of them are the Avdiivka axis together with Mariinka," he said.

According to him, this is due to the losses of the occupiers in personnel and equipment. "This is not surprising, since over the past five days the enemy has lost about 2,400 people killed and wounded in the Donetsk Region in the operating zone of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Troops Group. In addition, more than 150 armored vehicles were destroyed by our military, of which 54 tanks," Shtupun added.

Russian occupiers continue to try to surround Avdiivka, Donetsk Region. The enemy is storming in the north and south of the city, trying to "find holes" in defense. Nevertheless, the occupiers do not have success, all attacks are repulsed.

Earlier, the City Military Administration said that the enemy wants to cut the road to Avdiivka, Donetsk Region, tries to keep it constantly under fire, which makes it difficult to evacuate and supply humanitarian aid.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stressed that the special importance of Avdiivka is that the city is a gateway to Donetsk and to the entire Donetsk Region.
