Ukraine reduces grain exports by 18% to 6.2 million tons since beginning of new marketing year

The actual volume of grain exports by Ukraine since the beginning of the 2023/2024 marketing year (July 2023 - June 2024) as of September 25 is 6.152 million tons, which is 18% or 1.356 million tons less than in the same period of the previous marketing year.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

A total of 2,988,000 tons of wheat, 599,000 tons of barley, 0.6,000 tons of rye, and 2,544,000 tons of corn have already been exported.

At the same time, during the specified period, the export of wheat flour and flour from other crops increased by 53%, or by 11,700 tons, to 33,800 tons.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 17, russia announced the withdrawal of shipping safety guarantees in the Black Sea to ensure the "grain corridor."

Ukraine exported 49 million tons of grain in the 2022/2023 marketing year, which is 1.3% more than in the 2021/2022 marketing year.
