Total state debt up 3.1% to USD 132.9 billion in July

The aggregate state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in July increased by 3.1% or USD 4 billion to USD 132.92 billion compared to the previous month.

This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

State and state-guaranteed debt at the end of July amounted to UAH 4,860.59 billion, or USD 132.92 billion, against UAH 4,714.36 billion, or USD 128.92 billion, a month earlier.

The total amount of direct state debt as of the reporting date was UAH 4,521.09 billion (USD 123.63 billion) against UAH 4,376.48 billion (USD 119.68 billion) a month earlier.

At the same time, direct external debt for the month increased from USD 79.89 billion to USD 83.41 billion.

Direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,454.95 billion to UAH 1,470.75 billion (in dollar equivalent increased from USD 39.79 billion to USD 40.22 billion).

The state-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 339.50 billion, or USD 9.28 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2022, the total state debt increased by USD 13.39 billion or 13.66% to USD 111.34 billion.
In 2021, the state debt increased by 8.52% or USD 7.69 billion to USD 97.95 billion.

In 2020, the total national debt increased by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.

In January-June, the Ministry of Finance attracted UAH 195.6 billion, USD 1,964 million and EUR 641 million to the state budget through the placement of government domestic loan bonds.
