Zelenskyy introduces bills to Rada to extend martial law and mobilization until November 15

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposes that the Verkhovna Rada extend the period of martial law and conduct general mobilization from August 18 for 90 days, that is, until November 15.

This is stated in bills No. 9532 and 9533, registered in the Rada on July 26, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Bill No. 9532 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 451 of July 26 "On the Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine," according to which the period of martial law is extended from 5:30 a.m. on August 18, 2023 for 90 days.

Bill No. 9533 provides for the approval of Presidential Decree No. 452 of July 26 "On the Extension of the Period of General Mobilization," according to which the period of general mobilization is extended from August 18 for 90 days.

The explanatory note to both bills notes that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 2, the Rada extended the period of martial law and general mobilization from May 20 for 90 days, that is, until August 18.

On February 24, 2022, the Rada approved the introduction by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of martial law in connection with the outbreak of war by Russia and the declaration and conduct of general mobilization.
