Finance Ministry implements borrowing plan for state budget for 87.9% attracting UAH 738.9 billion in 5M

In the first five months of 2023, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing from the state budget for 87.9%, attracting UAH 738.9 billion.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Actual state borrowings to the general fund of the state budget for the first five months of 2023 amounted to UAH 738.9 billion, or 87.9% of the planned for this period.

UAH 240.3 billion was raised from the placement of domestic government loan bonds to finance the state budget, including UAH 80.3 billion in foreign currency (USD 1,644.1 million and EUR 504.9 million).

At the same time, UAH 101.1 billion was raised thanks to issuing domestic government loan bonds.

At the same time, payments for repayment of the state debt for the first five months of 2023 amounted to UAH 197.8 billion (96.8% of the plan) and maintenance payments - UAH 83.8 billion (91.5% of the plan).

Raising funds from placements of domestic government loan bonds for the first five months of 2023 made it possible to fully cover the need for funds necessary to repay government bonds.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the first four months of 2023, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing from the state budget by 83.4% and attracted UAH 596.9 billion.

In 2022, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing from the state budget by 67.3% and attracted UAH 1,261.1 billion.
