Total State Debt Down 0.5% To USD 116 Billion In February

The aggregate state (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in February decreased by 0.51% or USD 0.59 billion to USD 116.01 billion compared to the previous month.

This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

State and state-guaranteed debt at the end of February amounted to UAH 4,242.16 billion, or USD 116.01 billion, against UAH 4,258.20 billion, or USD 116.44 billion, a month earlier.

The total amount of direct state debt as of the reporting date was UAH 3,882.90 billion (USD 106.18 billion) against UAH 3,891.20 billion (USD 106.41 billion) a month earlier.

At the same time, direct external debt for the month decreased from USD 67.56 billion to USD 67.01 billion.

Direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,420.46 billion to UAH 1,432.45 billion (in dollar equivalent increased from USD 38.84 billion to USD 39.17 billion).

The state-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 359.26 billion, or USD 9.82 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2022, the total state debt increased by USD 13.39 billion or 13.66% to USD 111.34 billion.

In 2021, the state debt increased by 8.52% or USD 7.69 billion to USD 97.95 billion.

In 2020, the total national debt increased by 6.9% from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
