Population’s Deposits With Banks Up 1.5% To UAH 937.1 Billion In February
As of March 1, according to the latest data, the amount of funds deposited by individuals in hryvnias and foreign currency with banks increased by 1.5% month over month to UAH 937.145 billion.
This follows from a statement by the National Bank, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In the year to date, the funds deposited by individuals on accounts of commercial banks have risen by 1.2% from UAH 926.488 billion.
In February, the hryvnia deposits with commercial banks rose by 1.4% to UAH 588.551 billion.
In February, the foreign currency deposits of the population in the hryvnia equivalent increased by 1.8% to UAH 348.594 billion.
In February, deposits of legal entities with Ukrainian commercial banks (both in the hryvnia and foreign currency) increased by 2.9% to UAH 957.344 billion.
The average interest rate on hryvnia deposits (average monthly) in February for legal entities increased by 1.3 p.p. to 12.1%, and for individuals it increased by 0.2 p.p. to 10.8%.
The rate on foreign currency deposits for legal entities made 0.6%, and 0.6% for the population.
As the Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2022, population’s deposits with banks increased by 29.3% from UAH 719.418 billion.
In 2021, population’s deposits with banks increased by 6.8% from UAH 674.718 billion to UAH 720.932 billion.
In 2020, population’s deposits with banks increased by 24.5% from UAH 542.302 billion.
