AFU repel 11 attacks and destroy 3 enemy ammunition depots – General Staff

On January 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) successfully repelled all enemy attacks in the Luhansk and Donetsk Regions.

This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the AFU in its morning summary.

During the day, the enemy conducted four missile and five airstrikes. It also carried out more than 40 attacks using MLRSes.

The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Lyman, Avdiyivka, and Zaporizhzhia directions. It continues offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction. In others, it is in defense.

Over the past 24 hours, units of the AFU repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Stelmakhivka and Novoselivske in the Luhansk Region; and Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Bilohorivka, Paraskoviyivka, Bakhmut, Stupochky, Novobakhmutivka, Pervomaiske, and Mariyinka in the Donetsk Region.

No enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn, Polisskyi, Siversk, and Slobozhansk directions. Areas of Sopych, Kharkivka, and Popivka settlements in the Sumy Region; and Veterynarne, Strelecha, Zelene, Pylna, Vovchansk, Novomlynsk, Starytsia, and Dvorichna in the Kharkiv Region were hit by mortar and artillery fire.

In the Kupiyansk direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Petropavlivka, Tabayivka, Synkivka, Krokhmalne, and Kupiyansk settlements of the Kharkiv Region, as well as Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk Region.

On the Lyman direction, Makiyivka, Ploshanka, Chervonopopivka, and Serebriansk forestry and Kuzmyne in the Luhansk Region were hit by fire.

Areas of 21 settlements were affected by fire in the Bakhmut direction, in particular, Verkhniokamiyanske, Chervonopopivka, Zalizne, Bilohorivka, Chervona Hora, Bakhmut, Kurdiumivka, and Mayorsk of the Donetsk Region.

In the Avdiyivka direction, Avdiyivka, Nevelske, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiyivka, and Mariyinka came under enemy fire.

In the direction of Novopavlovsk, the enemy fired artillery and mortars in the Bohoyavlenka and Mykilske areas of the Donetsk Region.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, more than 20 settlements were affected by artillery fire, in particular, Vilne Pole, Vremivka, and Novopil in Donnechyna and Huliaipole, Pavlivka, Novodanilivka, Stepove, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

In the Kherson direction, in particular, the areas of Dudchany, Inhulets, Havrylivka, Burhunka, Monastyrske, Antonivka, and Kherson settlements were shelled with MLRSes.

From January 18 to 21, reinforcements of the occupiers arrived in the settlements of Vynohradove and Brylivka of the Kherson Region. The personnel was armed only with small arms, personal protective equipment, such as bulletproof vests, had only units, military equipment was not imported.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. The city hospital of Dniprorudny, Zaporizhzhia Region, is full of wounded. Only recently, about 150 invaders have been delivered. At the same time, most of the hospital staff refused to cooperate with the occupiers, so doctors are sent from the Russian Federation.

During the day, the aviation of the AFU made three strikes on enemy concentration areas. An enemy UAV Orlan-10 was also shot down. Ukrainian rocket launchers and gunners hit four areas where the occupiers were concentrated and three ammunition depots.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff believes that since the beginning of the invasion, Russia has suffered huge losses that far exceed 100,000 killed.

Meanwhile, over the past day, the AFU of Ukraine eliminated 600 occupiers and 43 units of equipment of the Russian army of occupation.
