Finance Ministry places war bonds worth UAH 21 billion and USD 69 million
The Ministry of Finance has placed war bonds worth UAH 21 billion and USD 69 million.
This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Finance, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The securities were placed with a maturity of 6 months for UAH 332 million at 14% per annum, 1.5 years - for UAH 20,540 million at 19.25% per annum, and 2 years - for UAH 27 million at 19.5% per annum.
The ones denominated in dollars have a maturity of 6 months, but were placed in two tranches for USD 40 and USD 29 million and have a yield of 4.25% and 3% per annum, respectively.
A total of UAH 23,516 million in equivalent were attracted to the state budget.
On November 8, the Ministry of Finance issued war bonds for UAH 43.7 million, which is the smallest amount since the beginning of the war.
Before this, the smallest amount was involved on October 4 – UAH 44.5 million.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Finance previously announced that war bonds are primarily a tool for supporting the state budget during a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, and not a tool for maximizing income from investment activities, therefore war bonds rates remain fixed.
The Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing to the state budget by 67.3% and attracted UAH 1,261.1 billion in 2022.
