Share Of NPL In Banks Up 0.29 p.p. To 27.64% In May

In May 2022, the share of non-performing loans (NPL) in Ukrainian banks increased by 0.29 percentage points to 27.64%.

The NBU has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The volume of non-performing loans in May increased by UAH 7.8 billion to UAH 317.5 billion.

At that, in state-owned banks, the share of non-performing loans in May decreased by 0.57 p.p. to 45.03%, and in foreign banking groups increased by 0.41 p.p. to 7.39%.

The share of non-performing loans in banks with private capital increased by 0.65 p.p. to 12.43%, while in PrivatBank it decreased by 1.76 p.p. to 66.3%.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the share of NPL in the loan portfolio decreased by 11% in 2021 - from 41% as of January 1, 2021 to 30% as of January 1, 2022.

In 2020, the share of NPL in Ukrainian banks decreased from 48.4% (as of January 1, 2020) to 41% (as of January 1, 2021).
