Helicopters, Tanks And Missile Systems. Czech Republic Hands Over Weapons To Ukraine To Fight With Russia

The Czech Republic has handed over combat helicopters, tanks and missile systems to Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion. Other countries supported it.

The head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin announced this at a briefing after the second meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, writes European Pravda.

"I also want to thank the Czech Republic for its contribution, including attack helicopters, tanks and missile systems," Austin said.

In addition, the Czech Republic was supported by other countries, and they also provided Ukraine with artillery systems and ammunition. These are Italy, Greece, Norway and Poland.

"I also want to note the leading role of the UK, which helps coordinate military assistance, and the huge amount of British military assistance that continues to flow to Ukraine," the head of the Pentagon added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 19, Reuters reported that the White House was working to transfer modern anti-ship missiles to Ukraine that would help lift the naval blockade by the Russian Federation.

On May 22, Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to the head of the President's Office, said that Ukraine would release the Black Sea if partners handed over MLRS systems (Multiple Launch Rocket System - an American universal missile launcher).

On May 21, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the Black Sea can be unblocked in different ways, one of the ways is military, so Ukraine turned to partners with requests for appropriate weapons.

On May 23, it became known that Denmark agreed to provide Ukraine with Harpoon anti-ship missiles and launchers to them to protect its coast.

At the same time, the media reported that the Federal Government, headed by Chancellor Olaf Scholz, has been blocking exports of up to 100 Marder infantry fighting vehicles manufactured by Rheinmetall concern to Ukraine for more than a month.
