Number Of Coronavirus-Infected People In Kyiv City Up By 673 Persons To 101,123 On December 20, Number Of Deaths Up 10 To 1,723 - Klitschko

On December 20, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 673 over December 19 to 101,123, and the number of deaths rose by 10 to 1,723.

Kyiv City Mayor / Chairperson of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitali Klitschko, announced this at a briefing, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

There were 402 women aged 20-86; 247 men aged 20-90; 12 girls aged 2-16; and 12 boys aged 2m-16y among the people infected with the coronavirus on December 20.

Besides, 21 medical workers fell ill.

A total of 47 people were hospitalized in the capital.

In total, 1,996 patients are treated in Kyiv hospitals, including 19 children, 1,061 patients are in grave condition, 1,319 people receive oxygen support, 28 are connected to artificial lung ventilation devices.

The occupancy of beds in medical institutions in Kyiv is 48%.

A total of 564 people recovered on December 20, and 32,739 have recovered since the start of the epidemic.

The largest number of coronavirus cases was registered in Darnytskyi district – 210, in Dniprovskyi district – 141, and in Desnianskyi district - 70.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 19, the number of coronavirus-infected people in the city of Kyiv rose by 756 over December 18 to 100,450, and the number of deaths rose by 14 to 1,713.

On December 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 6,545 over December 19 to 970,993, and the number of deaths increased by 80 over December 19 to 16,665; at the same time, the number of new cases fell by 21.4%, and the number of new lethal cases fell by 31%.

According to the report, as at the morning of December 21, there were 970,993 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 16,665 lethal cases; besides, 586,268 people had recovered.

On December 20, a total of 6,545 new cases of the disease were recorded, 80 people died, and 5,106 people recovered.

Therefore, as at December 20, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (6,545 vs 5,106).

The number of the active sick (only those sick) as at the morning of December 21, made 368,060 people, up 0.37% day over day.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (101,123), Kharkiv region (65,414), and Odesa region (64,589).
