Ukraine Cuts USF Gas Reserves By 43% To 9.6 Billion Cubic Meters Since Heating Season Start
Since the start of the current heating season on October 24, 2017, Ukraine cut natural gas reserves in the underground gas storage facilities (USF) by 43% or 7,332 million cubic meters to 9,641.72 million cubic meters.
The Ukrtransgaz company, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The average daily gas utilization in March has made 114.52 million cubic meters.
Since early March 2018, Ukraine has imported a total of 33.636 million cubic meters of gas: 21.315 million cubic meters through the territory of the Slovak Republic, 8.277 million cubic meters through Hungary and 4.042 million cubic meters through the Republic of Poland.
Since early March, Ukraine has produced 169.835 million cubic meters of gas and transited 787.796 million cubic meters.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 1, Deputy Chairperson of the Russia's gas monopoly Gazprom, Alexander Medvedev, stated that the Russian company had decided not to supply gas to the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company starting March and returned respective advanced payment.
Starting March 2, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine introduced temporary restrictions on gas consumption in Ukraine due to misbalance of 15-20 million cubic meters per day.
Later, Naftogaz managed to agree with Polish-based PGNiG on urgent gas supplies.
Over 60 million cubic meters of gas were contracted with the Polish company.
