SACPO, NACB To Complete Investigation Into Avakov's Son, Ex-Deputy Minister Chebotar Before March

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NACB) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SACPO) intend to complete a criminal investigation into accusations brought against son of the Minister of the Interior Affairs Arsen Avakov, Oleksandr and former deputy Minister of the Interior Serhii Chebotar both suspected of embezzlement of the state funds during procurement of backpacks for the Interior Ministry and the National Guard.

The Ukrainian News Agency learnt this from a well-informed source.

"We will complete in February, fore sure," the source said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in late October 2017, the NACB and SACPO detained Minister Avakov's son Oleksandr and Chebotar on the accusations of embezzling state funds during procurement of backpacks for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard.
