Poroshenko: Zabrodskyi Appointed As ATO Forces Commander

President Petro Poroshenko states that Commander of the Air Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Zabrodskyi has been appointed as the commander of the antiterrorist operation forces.

Poroshenko has written this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Besides, the commander had been Oleksandr Lokota, Lieutenant-General / First Deputy Commander of the Land Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the bill On Special Features Of State Policy In Protection Of State Sovereignty Of Ukraine Over Temporarily Occupied Territories In Donetsk And Luhansk Regions in first reading.

The document envisions establishment of unified operations center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of the ATO headquarters to combat Russian aggression.
