Cabinet Decides To Disband Sanitary Service

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to disband the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service and to pass its functions to the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from governmental resolution No. 348 of March 29.

The governmental resolution cancels a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on reorganization of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service by adding it to the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service.

The governmental resolution passes the functions of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service to the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service.

The comment on the governmental resolution posted on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers reads that the resolution follows a ruling of the Kyiv Appeal Administrative Court of February 8, 2016, which ordered to cancel the decision of the cabinet on reorganization of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service.

The comment also reads that further functioning of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service is not expedient as its functions are also performed the Healthcare Ministry, the State Service for Labor, and the State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service.

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to disband the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service and to establish a liquidation commission.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 26, 2014, the Cabinet of Ministers established a commission for reorganization of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service.
