Hontareva Offers Several Candidacies For NBU Head's Post To Poroshenko

Chair of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Hontareva has offered several candidacies for the post of the central bank head to President Petro Poroshenko.

She said this at the Monday press-conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The head of the Regulator noted importance of appointment of not a politician, but a banker and technocrat for the position.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in compliance with effective legislation, head of the National Bank of Ukraine is dismissed and appointed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine under respective recommendation of the President of Ukraine.

The Verkhovna Rada appointed Hontareva as the head of the NBU in June 2014.
