Ukraine Advocating Prolongation Of EU Sanctions Against Russia Until 2018
Ukraine calls for prolongation of the European Union's sanctions against the Russian Federation not by six months but by a year (until 2018).
President Petro Poroshenko said this at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden Stefan Lofven, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Poroshenko reminded that respective proposal was addressed by Ukraine to its European partners.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Poroshenko considers that if the Minsk agreement roadmap is not elaborated before December 2016, the EU will be able to prolong its sanctions against Russia by a year.
In September, the Council of the European Union prolonged the sanctions against 146 individuals and 37 legal entities involved in actions against territorial integrity of Ukraine by six months until March 15, 2017.
