NAPC Approves Procedure For Verifying Electronic Declarations
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) has approved the procedure for verifying public officials' electronic asset declarations.
The agency's chief of staff Ihor Tkachenko announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News reports.
"This procedure has been approved and submitted to the Ministry of Justice for registration," he said.
However, according to him, the Ministry of Justice has not yet registered the document.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption's head Natalia Korchak declined to provide details of the procedure for verifying declarations.
However, she did say that the agency does not have automatic pegging of electronic declaration to public registries.
Korchak expects this mechanism to be developed in 2017.
The agency's officials are currently trying to verify the declarations manually.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko has described the launch of the electronic asset declaration system for public officials as effective.
